Festivals & Events
పండుగలు
Ugadi, Sankranti, Bathukamma, Deepavali and cultural evenings, held across the UK through the year.
మా గురించి
A volunteer-run Telugu cultural organisation, built by families across the United Kingdom.
మా లక్ష్యం
Thousands of Telugu families and students live across Britain. Many arrived alone, built a life here, and found that the language and the festivals slowly went quiet.
BITSS exists to keep them loud. We bring Telugu people together to celebrate what we grew up with, and to pass it on to children who are growing up somewhere else entirely.
We are not a temple, a political group or a business. We are a community organisation, run entirely by volunteers, open to every Telugu person in the UK and to anyone who wants to know more about the culture.
A Britain where Telugu children know their language, their festivals and their music — and where no Telugu family arriving in this country has to work out how to belong on their own.
Celebrate together. Hold the festivals of the Telugu calendar so families across the UK have somewhere to go on the day that matters.
Pass on the language. Teach Telugu to children born here, and to adults who want to reclaim it.
Keep the arts alive. Support classical dance, music and the traditions that carry them.
Welcome newcomers. Help students and families who have just arrived find people, advice and a place to start.

సహాయం
A first point of contact for Telugu families and students settling into life in Britain.

మా ప్రయాణం
It started the way these things usually do — a few families talking after a Sankranti gathering in 2024, agreeing that their children were losing the language and that somebody ought to do something.
The first event was small. Word travelled through WhatsApp groups and university societies, and by the end of the year we had families joining from several cities.
We are still young and still small, and every single thing we run is organised by people doing it in their evenings and weekends. If you want to help, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
మా విలువలు
Every Telugu person in the UK, whatever their background, faith or region. And anyone else who is curious.
No paid staff. What members contribute goes into halls, materials and the events themselves.
Most of what we do exists so that the next generation keeps something we were given.
We are Telugu and we are British. We are not choosing.
